Sumner Pecans

Sumner Pecan Groves is a family owned and operated farm, tending the same orchard since 1916 when Mrs. Sandra's Grandfather, V.B. Godwin began planting pecan trees on his farm at the edge of Lenox, Georgia.  Granddaddy Godwin planted Stuart, Success, and Moneymaker varieties in alternating rows on ten acres behind the house.  Except for a couple of trees that were lost to lightening, those same trees make up the backbone for our operation today.

About the same time that Granddaddy Godwin was planting trees, the Robinson family was also planting orchards near Lenox.  We now lease these orchards which has given us access to Schley and Desirable varieties.

Sumner Pecan Groves is located on Georgia Exit 49 on Interstate 75.
Our address is:
416 N Broad St
Lenox, GA  31637

This allows us access to travelers headed to Florida on vacation.  Through our sales racks at local travel centers, we were able to build a growing mail order business.  Now, we are hoping to tap into another Superhighway; the Internet.  It has worked so well in fact, that we have discontinued the sales racks and now concentrate on serving our internet customers by shipping fresh pecans direct from our orchard to you.
